Analyze It W Excel exports entire table not select fields due to unknown.
Cause:
Analyze It With Excel exports an entire table to Excel instead of only selected fields. Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem with Access 7.0 at this point.
Solution:
As a workaround, create a query with only the needed fields, and then use Analyze It With MS Excel again on the query results.
1) Create a query with only the needed fields:
a) If the Database window is not active, activate the Database window.
b) Click the 'Queries' tab in the Database window.
Queries tab
c) Click 'New'. (The New Query dialog box appears.)
d) Select 'Simple Query Wizard' from the list box.
Select wizard
e) Click 'OK'. (The Simple Query Wizard dialog box appears.)
f) Select the table containing the fields to include in the select query from the 'Tables/Queries' drop-down list box.
Tables/Queries
g) Select the desired field to include in the select query from the 'Available Fields' list box.
Available fields
h) Click '>'. (The selected field appears in the Selected Fields list box.)
> button
i) Repeat steps 1)g) and 1)h) for each field to include in the query from the selected table.
j) Click 'Next'.
k) Select the 'Detail (shows every field of every record)' radio button.
l) Type a name for the query in the 'What title do you want for your query?' box.
Query title
m) Select the 'Open the query to view information' radio button to run the query.
n) Click 'Finish'. (The query appears in the Datasheet view.)
2) Use Analyze It With MS Excel on the query results:
a) Select the 'Tools' menu and select 'OfficeLinks'. (A submenu appears.)
b) Select 'Analyze It With MS Excel' from the submenu. (The data is saved as a Microsoft Excel (.XLS) file in the folder where Access is installed, and Excel automatically opens the file.)
